Chrysalis Foundation Women's Alliance Project
In 1998, Chrysalis created the Greater Des Moines Women’s Alliance Project to bring together organizations whose primary mission is to serve and strengthen lives of women and girls central Iowa. This partnership now includes nearly 40 organizations, all committed to improve the future for women and girls, and to improve their effectiveness as nonprofit organizations. Goal for the Women’s Alliance is to develop a long-term partnership of organizations focused on key issues facing women and girls; the Alliance is creating its business plan to identify measurable results for its work.
Key priorities identified by the Women’s Alliance :
- economic independence through employment, asset building, and financial literacy
- access to health care services
- education training programs to improve life and career skills
- improved availability to public benefits programs
- heightened awareness of policymakers’ roles in improving the future for women and girls
