CHRYSALIS 2008 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN
Chrysalis is seeking YOUR support for this year's "Invest in Chrysalis - We'll Make Change" annual campaign. This year's campaign goal is $145,000 and everyone's contribution is critical!
Remember, 100% of every dollar raised will support Chrysalis' programs for women and girls in Greater Des Moines through exciting programs including Chrysalis After-School and Chrysalis Community Grants.
Chrysalis Philanthropy Chair, Rosemary Parson, notes, "The Chrysalis Foundation works to expand opportunities and to remove barriers for all women and girls. We believe that an investment in Chrysalis is one of the best investments to improve our community - not only women and girls, but families, neighborhoods, and beyond. Our work to create leadership and economic self-sufficiency of women and girls is the strategy we employ to truly make change - in individual lives, and in systems and policies that affect them."

CALLING ALL GOLFERS (OR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO LEARN)!
 The Central Iowa Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners is hosting a special golf outing to benefit the Chrysalis Foundation!
The Inaugural NAWBO-CI Golf Outing will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Urbandale Golf and Country Club. The cost to participate is $40 per person (pre-registered) for 9 holes of golf ($50 for registration at the door).
Event details:
- 2 p.m. Registration/FREE Golf Clinic/FREE Golf Etiquette Presentation by Golf, Etc.
- 3 p.m. "Best Ball" Tournament with shotgun start
- 5 p.m. Prizes/Drawing/Cash bar social hour/Dinner on your own at the Country Club Grill
- 6 p.m. Annual Meeting - NAWBO-CI

CHRYSALIS BUSINESS PARTNER "LUNCH AND LEARN!"
Join us on July 16 for our next Chrysalis Business Partner "Lunch and Learn" event featuring Richard Rowe, of JFG International, who will present, "Understand Yourself to Understand Others." The presentation will explore how our individual behavioral styles affect those around us.
Richard Rowe has served for over 20 years in the U.S. Navy, experiencing leadership and human behavior at all levels, from the entry level military person, to noted government leaders, as well as different religious leaders throughout the world, giving him unique insight into human behavior. An internationally recognized speaker and author, authoring the book, "Is your life a puddle or an Ocean," he has presented over a 1000 speeches and seminars nationally and internationally. With over 15 years of experience in the corporate training arena, he brings knowledge and passion to help individuals realize their true potential, in both their professional and personal lives.
The Lunch and Learn is sponsored by the Chrysalis Foundation Business Partner Program and will be held on July 16 from 11:45 pm (registration) until 1:30 pm in the board room of the Iowa Workforce Development Center, 430 East Grand Avenue in downtown Des Moines.

"WHEN CONVERSATIONS TURN CRUCIAL" PRESENTED BY SHIRLEY POERTNER
Shirley Poertner, President of Poertner Consulting Group, will share with us important information on how to have the difficult conversations each of us faces in our lives and work at our upcoming Chrysalis Conversations event on Friday, July 25. We'll meet in Waveland Hall of Plymouth Congregational Church at 7:30 a.m. for this provocative and engaging presentation.
Prior to starting her own company in 1994, Poertner worked for Iowa's finest companies including Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Meredith Corporation, and First Interstate of Iowa (now Bank of America). She holds a Masters degree in Leadership and Adult Learning from Drake University.

We're honored to feature Rebecca Esposito, CEO of Esposito Communications in Austin, Texas, which is an international training and consulting firm enhancing the success and performance of executives and professionals through improved communication skills. Coffee and dessert will be provided. There is no charge to attend, however, registration is required.

Please do not park in the Library underground garage, as the garage will be locked at 8:00 p.m. and remaining autos will be ticketed.)
