Issue 7, Volume V In this newsletter: Meet the Chrysalis After-School Grantees It's a new school year, and Chrysalis After-school will kickoff it off on September 13, 2007. This year's program will include 23 participating schools, including 7 elementary, 15 middle and 1 high school. This year's recipients include: Capitol View, Jackson, Carver, Monroe, Hillis, South Union and Moulton Elementary Schools; Brody, Callanan, Goodrell, Harding, Hiatt, Holy Family, Hoyt, Summit Middle School of Johnston, McCombs, Meredith, Merrill, Moulton, Southeast Polk, Weeks, and Woodside Middle Schools; and Southeast Polk High School. The program has a comprehensive curriculum including academics, life skills, volunteerism, health and women's history. Chrysalis After-School also emphasizes financial literacy and career options to prepare girls for future educational and leadership opportunities, and for nontraditional careers.
